What you said about the narration and physical structure of the book is interesting. I'm noticing that more fiction writers seem to be using creative narration, varying chapters and other techniques you mentioned, such as simulating news stories, social media posts, etc. I think this is a sign of the times in that authors are trying to break away from traditionally structured books and add some different elements to engage modern readers.
