Ten Sixties Rock Groups Still on Tour
On the road with classic performers from sixty years ago
When it comes to the Sixties, nostalgia is alive and well… and so are rock groups from that era. It’s likely their audiences are the baby boomers who were fans decades ago and aged with them — but I wouldn’t be surprised if their timeless music appeals to younger generations as well.
Amazingly, some Sixties rock groups are still on tour today — sixty years later. Of course, these groups are no longer comprised of all the original members; many either left or passed away. But there are remarkable performers like Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones and Otis Williams of The Temptations who have remained with the original groups— and they still bring the house down!
In order to be included on my list of ten Sixties rock groups, at least one original member had to still be touring today. I’ve indicated the original group members, the touring group members (if known) and some of their big hits from the Sixties. I’ve also included a signature song for each group, which I hope you will enjoy!
