Rodrigo, I enjoyed reading this. I particularly liked your observation at the end about rock vs. jazz guitarists -- very true. I was a self-taught drummer in a short-lived rock band as a teen. While I considered Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa my heroes, I knew I'd stick to Ringo-style rock instead of widening my drumming world, so I know exactly how you felt.
