Interesting bit of baseball history I hadn’t thought about, Loren. I do think the current compensation for MLB players and most sports pros is out of whack compared with minor leaguers. Such high salaries may be warranted given the money professional sports rakes in, but it does say something about what our society values. That’s a whole different discussion, though!
