I will say, however, that my wife and I have been extremely pleased with a fee-only financial advisor who we've continued to rely on for more than thirty years. She has helped guide our life decisions and made them possible through careful asset management, investment diversity and compounding. We would never have been able to achieve our goals or have a comfortable retirement without her assistance. They may be hard to find but I suspect there are other financial planners out there who can be just as valuable.
