I think consistency in posting, reading and commenting is always the best policy. Writers who are established in particular niches should be generally able to withstand any perceived downturn. I admire your ability to ‘roll with the punches’ and maintain your perspective. As for your verses, I think they can work as stand-alone pieces in poetry-oriented pubs but are just as effective within longer pieces. Probably not very helpful input!
