Great write up! The song itself has a melancholy vibe that makes it more like some of the less upbeat, perhaps less popular work of the Fab Four. I think it is the kind of song that will grow on you. More important in my opinion is the fact that McCartney wanted to release it as a tribute to Lennon and as evidence that The Beatles make timeless music.
