Excellent observations about prevention. Unfortunately it seems the American healthcare system and Medicare are designed to treat instead of prevent disease and illness. My mother-in-law did make it to 100 and she had remarkably few health issues in her later years. She was very fortunate but also wise in following a relatively healthy lifestyle.
