Disparaging the female gender is widespread, not just in describing authors. It may be subtle or obvious, but I can think of numerous times when I’ve seen a swipe intentionally or unwittingly taken at women who have achieved something notable. This seems to be especially true when comparing women to men. Thanks for pointing it out, because words do matter.
