As a fellow Spenser fan,Buddy, I appreciate your review of this new book, especially with regard to your assessment of the characters. Parker was a master at capturing both the personalities and dialogue of Spenser and Hawk. I read the Ace Atkins books and noticed the differences even there, but it sounds like Lupica didn’t quite measure up to either Parker or Atkins. I think that is a testament to Parker’s brilliance. Nothing can beat the original, in my opinion. RIP Robert B. Parker.
