An excellent observation, John, that everyone should take to heart. Constructive criticism, especially from someone with the wisdom to care about quality, can be a powerful motivator and can often lead to a better outcome. A true professional in any field, but certainly in writing, welcomes constructive criticism instead of chafing at it, while an amateur might accept it begrudgingly or take it personally. Just as failure teaches us the value of success, constructive criticism teaches us that we can always improve.
